Business Development Internship (Unpaid) -- Portland/Salem, OR)

Are you looking for experience to diversity your resume? 

Do you have an interest one day to start your own business?

Looking for something that doesn't take too much time away from school?

Do you know how to use the internet to conduct research?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you would be a great fit for our organization. We are looking to bring on a business development intern. We need someone that can take initiative and work with our President to take one new business development projects.

Requirements:

  • High School Student (Junior or Senior preferred)

  • Smartphone access to a computer with Microsoft Office applications & video camera

  • Great sense of humor and outgoing

  • Values leadership and education

  • Entry level skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and OneNote, or willing to learn

This unpaid role is a work-on-the-go opportunity. Easy to manage while busy with school activities. The Intern will report directly to the President and will engage in communication with the Board of Directors on different subjects. Most meetings will be held via Google Hangouts, over the phone, or via of activity. There will be small project ad-hoc analysis for content development and research management. No experience necessary.

Job Shadow/Internship (Unpaid) (International Entrepreneurship -- Portland, OR; Airport Way)

Do you have an interest in starting your own company one day?

Do you need to gain entry level skills?

Would you like a deeper understanding of how business operates?

 

This private company has been a successful international import/export business for 30+ years. We will connect you with a business executive that is looking for talent that needs to gain real world working experience. You and the business executive will create a schedule that works around your times while you are attending school. This opportunity starts with a 5 week commitment with one day a week. The right candidate could do a full 6 month internship. (No set start date. There are two open positions)

Requirements:

  • High School Student (Senior)

  • Must be 18 years old due to risk management

  • Must be able to provide own transporation

  • Aspirations of learning a new business industry

  • Not scared to ask questions

  • No prior work experience is required

Learning Outcomes:

Job Shadow (Early Childhood Teacher - Salem, OR area)

Do you have an interest in becoming an elementary school teacher?

Are you passionate about education and leadership?

Do you want to gain first-hand experience before you spend your time and money on a college education?

 

We will connect you with an elementary school teacher to complete a hands-on job shadow. This is a great way to compare your career aspirations with real-world experience.  The teacher will make sure you have a clear understanding of what success looks like and discuss various college education pathways.  You and the teacher will create a schedule that works around your time while you are in school. Duration of this opportunity will be set with you and the mentoring teacher. 

Required:

  • High school student (Senior or Junior preferred)

Most meetings will be held via Google Hangouts, over the phone, or via text message.  Parental involvement in initial interview or meetings encouraged. There are no requirements for hours per week.  We anticipate less than 10 hours a week of activity.  There will be small project ad-hoc analysis for web content development and research management. No experience necessary.
